Neurogenetics Laboratory

Pioneering Neurogenetic Research with Drosophila melanogaster

About Our Lab

The Neurogenetics Laboratory at Yenepoya Research Centre investigates the genetic foundations of brain function and neurological disorders using Drosophila melanogaster as a model system.

Mission

To uncover the fundamental principles of the neurobiology using the genetic approaches in Drosophila.

Vision

To bridge the basic genetics with the translational of medicine for the neurological disorders.

Research Focus

Genetic Epilepsy

Investigating seizure mechanisms using Drosophila models to identify novel therapeutic targets.

Alzheimer's Disease

Studying amyloid toxicity and tau pathology in fly models.

Neurotoxicity

Examining chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy.
